Same womb. Same parents. Three totally different creatures. Birth order is a powerful thing: my oldest has always been careful, cautious, cerebral. My middle, loud, goofy, passionate. And now baby girl is sweet but super feisty (I had to leave library storytime earlier this week because she shouted “STOP SINGING” in the middle of “if you’re happy and you know it”. She was definitely not happy. And everyone knew it.)
Today is National Sibling Day, and while everyone is posting pics of themselves and their own siblings, I naturally thought of my kids and their sibling relationship. I wonder how they’ll get along over time. I wonder what their fondest childhood memories of each other will be. I wonder what highs and lows of life they’ll go through together.
Well no matter what happens, they can always look at each other and agree on one thing: “Mom was crazy.”
A food art sibling portrait is only fitting:
- Trader Joe’s mini bagels
- cream cheese + mango jelly blend*
- Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams (peanut butter and dark chocolate)
- mini chocolate chips
*My middle doesn’t like the mango jelly so I left it out of his cream cheese. As if he needed another reason to feel left out!
