Clearly, that’s a mama panda. I know because it’s the first time she’s gotten flowers in a long time. Even if she did have to buy them herself from Trader Joe’s, standing in the flower aisle debating whether to spend money on something so “frivolous” while her two-year-old rammed the kiddie cart into the banana display.
But listen, they’re not frivolous. Because after coming home, she calmly filled the vase and set it on the dining table. Her baby pandas sauntered over, marveling at this new and peculiar sight: “What is that? Flowers? We never have flowers.” Exactly. Then, “They’re so pretty.” And THEN, one baby panda turns to the other and whispers something about “flowers” and “Mother’s Day”.
No wonder you’re grinning. Well played, mama panda. Well played.
