I remember coveting a Goodbyn long before any of my kids were in school. (I guess bento blogging has always been my destiny.) The divided compartments, the little handle on top, the funky stickers. What’s not to love? The original has been overhauled a bit, but the good news is that the new designs are even better.
Goodbyn graciously sent me a few of their goodies for me to review. First up: the bynto. Look. How. Cute:
This was plenty for my 3rd grader, maybe a bit much for my kindergartener. But that’s the beauty of the bynto: everything stays completely separate so that you can pack as little or as much as you want without anything running into each other. The compartments are nice and deep, and the lid snaps shut and stays put really well. And at $8.99, this container is a STEAL. It’ll last you years and will far outlap any disposable plastic containers you’d be tempted to buy to “stay within a budget”.
Next, the snack container. Honestly, this humble bento box was my favorite part of the set. If you have a toddler, you feel me. When munchies attack on the playground, in the car, at the restaurant while waiting for dinner, this snack container is a lifesaver. It’s small enough to throw into your bag but holds a lot more than you’d think. So it’s a great snack container, but also great for holding side items–like a sidekick to the bynto. It can even hold a meal-sized portion of homemade baby food for infants, quite honestly. I tested it out with different veggies and fruits, trail mix, crackers and cheese, Greek yogurt and strawberries, and even soba noodles with a side of broccoli. This, friends, is the little container that could.
